Six Strings is a Country genre live
entertainment venue. Requests from bands to perform
music outside of this genre will not be considered.
All of our booked and open dates are available
for viewing on our website.
Six Strings is fully booked for Saturdays through 2011.
The only dates open in 2011 are early Friday shows where the
band performs from 8:30 - 10:30. The verbal contract for
performing a Friday show includes the following:
FRIDAY CONTRACT (Local Bands & Whip
Concerts Only):
Before any band can play a Friday night at Six Strings, they
must first audition on a Tuesday at Open Jam. The House
will be looking for your ability to entertain, your
musicianship, and most importantly how many people you bring to
hear you perform.
- First $100 at the door goes to pay Sound and LIghts
(house charge)
- Performance time is from 8:30 - 10:30
- After the first $100 at the door, the remainder goes to
the band/No Cap
- The door cover price is $3 with $2 drink specials
- You invite your friends through social media and word of
mouth
- No $$$ guarantees for the band. What you make depends on
how many people you bring in.
- Scheduling multiple dates helps build a following
- If you want to schedule multiple dates, spread them
about 6 weeks apart
- If multiple dates are scheduled but the band does not
perform well or fit well with the Six Strings environment,
we reserve the right to cancel future dates (3-4 week notice
will be given)
Here is what WE do for you:
- In most cases your band gets mentioned on B104 with our
weekly AD
- You get a facebook event to ~4000 people notifying them
of your show
- You are featured on the WBNQ and B104 benefits blackjack
game and Scratch & win game
- Your band is featured on our website, including upcoming
events, this week, band slideshow, and list of bands
- Security will maximize door for you. If someone is going
to walk because of cover they will negotiate it down to
maximize your profit
- You get all of the door money from the time we open at
7:00 until 10:30 when we flip to NO Cover (less the $100 for
the house)
- If the band plays well and does a good job but does not
pull a crowd, the house has the option to compensate the
band for their time (not to exceed $100). This option would
be selected if the house thinks the band could do well with
more rotations to build a following.

Please do not contact us about
dates that are already booked. Out of courtesy to our
existing bands we have a policy not to book over the top of
existing bookings.
Six Strings is a Country
and Classic Rock live entertainment venue.
We provide our bands with a professional production
sound and lighting environment capable of accommodating even the
most demanding production requirements, including a professional
and experienced in-house production staff. We discourage
the use of guest engineers to ensure that our venue provides a
quality entertainment environment that our customers have come
to expect. Any intention to use external sound engineers
must be approved by Six Strings management at the time of
booking. Use of external engineers for local
and regional bands will not be approved.
We are a club environment and
artists performing need to adhere to the following conditions:
- Sound Checks should be completed before
7:00
- Band takes the Stage at 10:00 ready to perform (8:30 on
Fridays)
- Band plays until 1:40am on Saturdays
- Bands should be prepared to play 2 or 3 sets
- A copy of your set list must be provided to the
House Sound Engineer
- Breaks should not be longer than 15 minutes
- The last set must not start later than 12:15
and play until 1:40
- Timing of breaks must be flexible and geared to
the crowd
- Return engagements are determined by
- your performance
- the number of customers you draw and hold
- feedback from customers and staff
- how well the band engages the customers at the
stage
All bands that are booked at Six Strings
should provide the sound and light engineers at Six Strings with
stage plots to ensure a smooth load-in and set-up.
Technical questions and stage plots should be emailed to:
engineering@sixstringsclub.com
Note: As a courtesy to
our bands we are happy to provide you with a recording of your
performance, at no charge. We record performances in HD (1080p)
with sound input from the mixer board. A typical performance
requires 17-20GB of disk storage. If you bring a laptop
with you we will be able to transfer the files directly to your
computer and you will be leaving that night with your show.
Otherwise we will place rendered (720p) performance footage in a secure location on
our website for you to download at your convenience.
We run a schedule of bands on rotation to
build local recognition and a following for our bands. We
are always looking for new talent but your band will need to
outperform our existing bands to stay on a regular rotation with
Six Strings. We are also careful not to introduce too many
new bands, eliminating the ability to rotate our regular bands.
So if we do not offer you the opportunity to play at Six
Strings, it is not necessarily because we don't think you are
talented enough, but rather that we do not have any openings.
We receive 5-10 requests a week from bands to play at Six
Strings. Clearly we cannot accommodate all of the
requests.
We pay our bands on a Min/Max pay scale based
on income from door cover. Our sound and light engineers
are paid from the door cover after the band minimum is reached.
If hotels are required, this expense is also pulled from the
door income after band minimum is satisfied. Income over
these expenses are paid to the band up to the contracted
maximum.
You are encouraged to advertise and promote your own band in
addition to the advertising provided by Six Strings to
maximize your profit at the end of the night. This is also
important for you because booking future performances is highly
dependent on the number of customers you draw.
In our opinion, if the information you provide
fits the open dates and quality of performance expected by Six
Strings we will be in contact with you regarding booking a date.
Note: Six Strings is an ASCAP licensed
establishment. Any artists or contractors booking at Six
Strings are expected to limit their song selections to ASCAP
licensed songs.
