Six Strings' Open Jam Sessions
When: Looking for a One Night Stand? You can find one at Six Strings every Tuesday at 9:00, starting on January 25th, 2011. Jam Session: Come out to perform by yourself or jump on stage with several of the house artists or other performers to create a Jam Session. The more musicians on stage making music the better. We provide front of house PA, DIs, Electric Amp, Bass Amp, and a house drum set. You can leave all of that equipment at home. Auditions: As of now, there will be no audition required to get stage time. If the demand warrants, then auditions may be required in the future to ensure the highest quality of entertainment. Time: The building will open at
6:00 pm for dance lessons. Open Mic will begin at 8:30 pm. SIgn-ups can be made starting at 8:30 the day of the event
or can be reserved through email in advance at: Email requests sent after noon on Tuesday
may not get reviewed since the venue is setting up for the
Open Jam session and may not have the ability to check
email. How many performers: There will be approximately 10-12 time slots available. We may add a performer or 2 if demand exists and time permits. Get there as close to 8:30pm as possible and have your friends with you! Once the 10-12 time slots are full , then sign ups are closed. Exception: If at Showtime (8:30 pm) all timeslots are not full, then we will begin signing up those performers that have less than 6 people in attendance. A waiting list will be created on a first come first serve basis. This list will be used to select additional performers. Cost: There is no cover at the door and no fee to perform. Six Strings Club will cover the cost of the sound engineer, although our engineers do appreciate tips for helping to make your performance incredible. Set times: All performers will have a maximum of 15 minutes on stage!! You can do less time, but you cannot do more unless arranged in advance with club management Age limit: There is 21 year old age restriction at Six Strings for audience members - No Exceptions. Performers under the age of 21 will be allowed to perform only if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. These performers will be required to leave following their performance. Material: This is an entertainment based event! We encourage comedy, singing, musical instrumentation, etc. . Vulgarity: You may use the "F" word in moderation. Use your best judgment here. The use of the "F" word can be very effective if used correctly. If we see a show as being too crude and vulgar, then the performer will receive a warning. If a second performance is also seen as too crude and vulgar, then a 8 week suspension will occur. This applies to all things seen as crude and vulgar, not just the "F" word. All decisions regarding vulgarity are based on our judgment. Once again, use your head. Food and Drink: Bar service will be available for the duration of the night and bar food is available from your bartender or wait staff.
